Privacy Policy

Who We Are

ComplyCAD is a product of Bits, Bytes & Bots Pty Ltd (ABN 76 686 453 707), an Australian company registered in New South Wales. In this policy “we” and “us” mean Bits, Bytes & Bots Pty Ltd. We decide how the information described below is handled, and we are the people you deal with if you want it changed or removed.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is needed to run ComplyCAD. In plain terms, that is three things:

• Your account: the email address you sign up with, a hashed password, and which plan you are on. We never see or store your password in readable form.
• Your project designs: building geometry, floor and room layouts, the equipment you place, cable runs, and the costing figures you type in.
• Error reports: when something breaks in your browser we record the error message, the technical stack trace, the page address it happened on, and your browser's user-agent string, so we can fix it.

We do not run advertising trackers and we do not ask for your clients' personal details. We do not sell your information or your designs to anyone, and we never will. Nobody buys access to your drawings, your costings or your customer list.

2. Who Else Handles Your Data

ComplyCAD is a small product built on two well-known providers. They are the only companies that process your data on our behalf.

• Stripe — payments. When you subscribe, you are handed over to Stripe's own checkout page and you enter your card details there. Your card number never touches ComplyCAD; we never see it and we could not store it if we wanted to. Stripe tells us only your customer and subscription identifiers and whether the subscription is active, trialing, past due or cancelled. Billing history and invoices live in Stripe's customer portal, which you can open from the billing page inside the app.
• Supabase — sign-in and project storage. Your account record and every project you save to the cloud are held in a Supabase Postgres database in the ap-southeast-2 (Sydney, Australia) region. Access is restricted per row, so a signed-in user can read and write only their own projects.

3. Our Own Customer Records

We keep a customer record for your account in a customer management system that we run ourselves. It holds general information only: your name, your email address, your company name if you give us one, which plan you are on, and the history of any support conversation you have with us.

Your project designs are never copied there. Building layouts, equipment placements, cable runs and costings stay in the ComplyCAD database described above and are not moved anywhere else.

If you stop using ComplyCAD we archive your customer record rather than delete it, so we can still answer a question about a past invoice or an old support request. You can ask us to remove it outright at any time and we will.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• Providing and improving our schematic design editor and compliance calculators.
• Managing subscription payments and verifying license status.
• Diagnosing layout errors or software crashes.
• Sending system updates and technical announcements.

5. How Long We Keep It

• Project designs and your custom pricing: kept while your subscription is running. If you cancel, or your subscription lapses because a payment stopped, your saved projects and any equipment you added to your own pricing catalogue are deleted 30 days later, by an automatic nightly job rather than by anyone remembering to do it. That window exists so a card problem or a change of mind does not cost you your work. Deleting a project yourself removes it straight away.
• Your sign-in: your login and account record survive that deletion, so you can come back and start fresh. Ask us and we remove the account itself as well.
• Customer record: archived when you stop using the product, as described in section 3.
• Error reports: kept while they are useful for debugging. They are never used to identify or profile you, and they are removed with your account.
• Payment records: held by Stripe under Stripe's own terms, and by us only as the identifiers described above. Tax and accounting law may require a record of a transaction to be kept after an account is closed.

6. Deleting Your Data

You can ask us to delete your account and everything in it at any time. Send the request through the contact form — choose "General Inquiry" and say you want your account deleted — or email privacy@complycad.com from the address you signed up with.

We will confirm the request and remove your account, your projects and your error reports within 30 days. This is separate from the automatic clean-up in section 5: cancelling a subscription starts the 30-day countdown on your designs, but your sign-in stays until you ask us to remove it.

7. Data Security

We employ standard security protocols to safeguard your account details and project files. Subscriptions are processed securely by Stripe, and we do not store raw credit card details on our servers.

8. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser localStorage to cache active design files so you don't lose work when reloading the page. These caches remain on your device until cleared. Signing in also stores a session token in your browser so you stay signed in.
